Is Counselling For Me?

counselling01.jpgResearch has shown that therapy is as effective as medication for many forms of psychological distress and possibly more so in the long run.

We are all influenced by the way we responded to our upbringing, family, schools or other important figures and significant events.

Looking at our lives and how we developed patterns of coping can help us to see how our past experiences may still affect us in the present and help us to let go of the past, make new choices and move forward with confidence.

Strict confidentiality is an essential part of the counselling process and is always maintained. The only exception to this is: the potential of serious harm to self or others, child protection issues or national security.

In these very rare circumstances, any necessary disclosure is always with the knowledge or consent of the client.
